Top 10 Gadgets that make people smile...
A recent survey of 2,500 people to "The Gadget Helpline" has been conducted to find the biggest 10 Gadgets that people cannot live without, and we are not surprised with the results.
The survey shows a massive request for help with gaming consoles, with the number 1 spot inevitably going to the console that allows its players to simulate the actions of the game they are playing, such as Bowling, Baseball and Golf (Ok so you can probably guess what this is ;-)
I will stop with the suspense now and give you the run down from 1 to 10 on the gadgets that make people happy.
1) Nintendo Wii
This massively popular 7th generation gaming console has changed the way people play games forever. Competing directly with Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 for the best console in the market today.
2) Ipod
The iPod is designed by Apple and is a portable media player. Their suite of products include the iPod Classic, iPod Touch, iPod Nano and the micro version iPod Shuffle. More recently they introduced the iPhone which can also function as and iPod.
3) iPhone 3G
3G have now made the iPhone much faster with their advanced wireless technology. With GPS mapping, Microsoft Exchange, the new App Store, iPhone 3G has brought extra life to the already successful iPhone.
And like its earlier version it has 3 in one functions - a futuristic phone, an iPod and revolutionary Internet device with email and a fantastic desktop web browser.
4) Xbox 360
Following the success of the Xbox, Microsoft turned full circle with its Xbox 360, and didn't it make us all smile? Allowing online gaming, downloadable content and ability to stream movies and games.
In addition, the 360 console has a Windows Media Centre, HD capabilities with its game and the ability to watch HD-DVD movies with an additional DVD drive.
5) Blackberry
One of the first Blackberry devices was brought to market in 1999 as a 2-way pager. Since then it has had many facelifts. It is now regarded as one of the most important devices for businessmen constantly on the go. The Blackberry offers as push email, mobile phone, text message service, internet faxing, web browsing and more.
6) Sky+
As a late purchaser of Sky+, I personally can say that this gadget has saved my life on several occasions and literally changed the way I live my life around the TV.
In a nutshell, Sky Plus is a video recorder for Sky Digital programmes, and originates from the original TiVo idea.
It allows you to record, pause and rewind programmes that you are watching live. This one makes me smile and would be higher up the leaderboard in my opinion!
7) Mac Book
Replacing the iBook and tiny 12 inch PowerBook, the Apple MacBook is the latest of revolutionary designs from Apple, with aluminium unibody casing and sexy slimline looks making this one gadget to be on show for all to admire - it works pretty well too!
8) Nintendo DS
The phenomonally successful Nintendo DS makes it to the number 8 spot. The handheld device was first released in 2004 in US, Japan and Canada. Moving on from the GameBoy Advance, the DS comes in a variety of colours (Pink DS Lite, Blue, Black, White) and has 2 LCD screens with a variety of games to keep you occupied.
Watch out for the next release in DS this April, the Nintendo DSi coming out very soon!
9) Tom Tom 930 Satellite Navigation System
Tom Tom has been known to have literally saved people's marriages, with its portable navigation devices becoming market leaders in GPS (although some men feel its like listening to the wife giving you directions, only correct ones!)
10) Sony PRS-505 Reader
Last on the top 10 gadgets to make people happy is the Sony PRS-505 Reader.
Essentially this is an e-book reader, and electronic paper display. Can display PDF documents, ePub, personal docs, blogs, news RSS feeds, JPegs, and BBeB formats. Has the ability to play MP3 and AAC audio files. Very useful indeed!
